To whom it my concern,
During the months of October and November 2009 Jim and Susan Segal house sat for us for six weeks while we travelled overseas. They took care of our dog, Amadeus who bonded with them immediately. He was walked on a daily basis and washed regularly. They collected our mail and tended our garden and ensured the engines in our two cars were frequently turned over.
As my husband runs his plumbing business from our home, they also replied to messages left on both our home answering machine and mobile phone voice mail to notify clients of our absence and intended date of return.
Upon our return we found our large house and yard, clean and well maintained and all our pot plants alive and healthy.

Testimonial – Susan & Jim Segal
Our 9 day trip in April to attend an interstate wedding was our first venture into a house sitting arrangement. We had several responses, but were delighted that Susan & Jim Segal were able to care for our home & animals.
As small farm owners, leaving the property is always a huge concern. The Segals arrived the day before we departed in order to get to know dogs/cat etc, and gain an understanding of routines/potential problems with electric fences, water systems etc. We spent a pleasant evening with Susan & Jim and were impressed with their warm and friendly manner and wonderful sense of humour. I can also recommend Susan as a problem solver with TV’s, computers & cameras !
Everything went smoothly while we were away, but we were confident and relaxed - feeling that Susan & Jim could cope with any problems. They cared for the chooks (and cheerfully coped with roosters crowing at 4.00 am!), geese, pet lambs, horses, kept an eye on the cattle & sheep and monitored the functioning of the electric fence.
On returning from our trip, it was wonderful to come home to a tidy house, with washing clean & folded, and a delicious meal in the oven. Susan had made jams from garden produce. We appreciated them being unobtrusive as we settled back in again. Our dogs (who would have been very unhappy in kennels) obviously enjoyed the attention they had received while we were away & did not greet our return with any great jubilation.
We would highly recommend Susan & Jim as conscientious and trustworthy house sitters, and hope during their next trip past this area they may be able to care-take our property once again.

We were lucky enough to have Susan and Jim as our house minders while we were overseas in May 2010. Although we don't have pets we appreciated having the house cared for in our absence, especially the regular raking of the leaves from our patio and lawns.
The house was spotless when we returned and clearly had been well cared for.
We would be delighted to have Susan and Jim stay again either while we are away or even when we are at home. We can certainly recommend them as reliable and caring house minders.
